Jennifer Yankee Caulfield

Jennifer Yankee Caulfield is an award-winning artist whose instrument is a camera. Her photographs vividly illustrate her sensitivity to the environment around us. Whether the subjects of her camera’s eye are people, animals, architecture or nature’s creations, Jennifer is ever mindful of the entire canvas and how lighting and colors interact with her subjects and their surroundings.

Jennifer’s commercial work encompasses weddings, natural-setting portraits of individuals and families, and location photography for businesses. Her ability in fine art photography is exemplified through alternative forms of artistic expression such as Polaroid manipulations and hand-painted images.

During the past 11 years, Jennifer has been featured in many one-person shows, juried exhibitions and art galleries throughout Southern California. Her photos have appeared on the magazine covers and as illustrations of feature articles in numerous magazines and newspapers. She has won several awards, including Best of Show, Color, in the International Exhibition at Del Mar Fair and First in Class, Professional Photographers of California, Inland Empire.

Raised in Topanga Canyon, CA, Jennifer began taking photographs as a child, using a Brownie camera. In 1988, she took her first photography class and won 6th place in her first competition, the International Exhibition at Del Mar Fair. This inspired her to study photography full-time at Palomar College, San Marcos, CA. She also has studied at West Coast School at Brooks Institute in Santa Barbara and with renowned photographers Lisa Evans, David Peters and Joyce Wilson.

Her love of animals led Jennifer to spend the early 80’s in the San Francisco area working with dolphins in a communication project with controversial scientist Dr. John C. Lilly.

Jennifer is a member and past president of Women in Creative Photography and a former member of Professional Photographers of California. She lives in Temecula, CA, with her husband, son, three cats and three ducks.
